Junior Lawyer Immigration

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Junior Lawyer will play an essential role in supporting the firm’s immigration practice by providing legal research, drafting documents, and assisting with case preparation under the supervision of senior attorneys.

This role is designed for early-career legal professionals with a passion for immigration law and a desire to develop expertise in handling complex legal issues related to visas, asylum, deportation defense, naturalization, and other immigration-related matters.

Strong understanding of immigration law principles, procedures, and legal terminology.

Excellent legal research and writing abilities.

Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective legal strategies.

Clear and persuasive written and oral communication skills.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Experience Level:

Typically, 0-2 years of post-qualification legal experience.

Prior internships or clerkships in immigration law or related areas are strongly preferred.

  1. Practical Exposure:

Demonstrated exposure to legal research, drafting, and case preparation.

Experience in a law firm, non-profit, or government agency focusing on immigration issues is advantageous.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Law Degree:

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.

Admission to the state bar or equivalent legal licensing required (or imminent pending results).

  1. Additional Certifications (Optional):

Additional coursework or certifications in immigration law, international law, or related fields are a plus.

Participation in moot court competitions, legal clinics, or pro bono work related to immigration is desirable.
